Using World Vision Alternative Gifts is nice and simple
Just look through the selection of alternative gifts online. Enjoy finding something that a friend or relative is sure to like. Select
your gift. Decide whether you want to send a card. If you do, choose either an e-card or a real card. Choose your own design if you want. Select
whether you want the card sent direct to you or to your friend or relative. Then simply make your payment and leave the rest to us.
Your gifts make a difference
All World Vision Alternative Gifts have been requested by one of the communities where World Vision is working. So you can rest
assured that every alternative gift you buy will be wanted and not wasted! To learn more about how communities have been putting
their alternative gifts to work, click here.
If your gift runs out
We send communities the actual alternative gifts that you have ordered. However, if a gift is oversubscribed, then
it is practical and sensible to use your money to buy other alternative gifts instead. Whatever happens, you can be sure your
alternative gifts are making a lasting difference. If everything in the catalogue sells out, we will then ask the communities
that World Vision is working with to identify other similar needs.
What your gift includes
At World Vision, we always strive to be straightforward in what we say and do. For instance, with any gift you buy, the price
you pay reflects the various costs involved in getting it to where it is needed and sending your friend or relative their card
or e-card. To begin with, World Vision staff inform us of the cost of the gifts in the countries where they will be bought. We
then add in our marketing costs, catalogue production, order processing, cards and finally, the cost of getting an alternative
gift to the communities that has requested it. The price of each alternative gift also includes relevant training for those who
will be using the gift and for those who administer them in the communities. Any Gift Aid we reclaim will be used to fund the whole
of World Vision’s work.
